Student Apprenticeship Studies

ABOUT THE MILTON THEATRE STUDENT APPRENTICESHIP STUDIES PROGRAM:

The Student Apprenticeship Studies program is a year-round theatre intensive designed for students aspiring to study theatre in college. It provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development through three main components:

Theatre for Young Audiences (June) – Students can perform or apply for creative and technical roles working on shows for young audiences, and can earn community service hours while learning how to connect with their community.

Practicum Experience (July) – Students are paired with a working professional from the West Side Story cast or Camp Staff to shadow and learn firsthand about working in the theatre industry.

Mainstage Production (August) – Students can audition for or apply for creative and technical roles in the High School Musical production, gaining valuable experience on a full-scale show.

Participants can apply for the entire program or select individual components based on their schedule. The application process mimics that of arts college admissions, offering students a unique opportunity to practice and receive guidance in applying to theatre programs. The Student Apprenticeship Studies program is ideal for students seeking to build their resumes, gain real-world theatre experience, and enhance their college applications.
