Every Friday and Saturday night, in the basement of O’Flaherty’s Ale House on Manhattan’s Restaurant Row, Brad and a small group of piano players faced off on two Casio Celviano keyboards for a four-hour singalong with an audience that grew from 10 to far beyond legal capacity. From there the show moved through several incarnations and locales over the course of a decade, from Times Square to Virginia Beach, and eventually landed at Bar Nine in NYC, where Brad and fellow performer James Barr formed THE FLYING IVORIES.With a rotating roster of top performers from around the country, THE FLYING IVORIES deliver an all-request, rock and roll sing-along for weddings, fundraisers, company outings, holidays, birthdays, bachelorette parties, virtual events and more.

By 2007, so many people had told him that he looked and sounded like Tom Petty that he decided to put together Damn TheTorpedoes as a tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The goal was to play all of the studio hits, some of the live versions and a few deep cuts to create the illusion of a Tom Petty concert performance. This meant that each band member would need to find the same sounds as on the records and play their parts note for note. Over the years Damn The Torpedoes has evolved with a deeper understanding of the Tom Petty catalog and more committed members. The current lineup has been in place for several years and demonstrates the unspoken chemistry that makes any great band. Guaranteed to have you dancing and singing along, all night long. Reproducing the sound of ELO is a tough task. Just ask any musician. This band has the goods. Dennis Schocket’s (guitars and lead vocals) voice is directly influenced by Jeff Lynne. “I think Jeff is quite possibly the greatest, most under rated pop vocalist ever.” Gregg Simmons (lead guitar and lead vocals) is known for his great fret work but it’s his incredible falsetto that gets him noticed here. Gregg says “You can’t make ELO music without the high notes!” He’s right of course. Veteran keyboardist, John Kelly (keys, guitar and lead vocals) takes on the multiple rolls of keys and strings with effortless grace and joy. John says “This music is just so beautifully crafted.” Violinist Greta Thomas is the newest member of the band. She brings her classically trained excellence to every song. Multi-instrumentalist Bronson Wagner (bass, keys and lead vocals) has the difficult task of reproducing that epic ELO bass rumble, but does so with style and flair. Anchoring all this is drummer Phil Brotman, doing his best Bev Bevan impersonation. “I love this music. It’s just full of joy and love.”
