SUE MATTHEWS Quartet
''Jazz Standards from the American Songbook''

Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.

The historic Milton Theatre welcomes back Sue Matthews performing her “Great American Songbook Jazz Standards”repertoire, from Berlin to Ellington, reminding us of the great Jazz Divas from Ella to Peggy. Matthews’ silky smooth voice, smoldering delivery and lyrical phrasing has brought her national and international acclaim. She is a jazz vocalist with class and a great sweet style. From the ‘Jazz Times’ to the ‘South Wales Evening Post’, she has been heralded as ”… a jazz singer whose unerring ability to find exactly the right approach to each song is something to be savored and enjoyed.”

Accompanying Ms. Matthews is Stef Sciaggiari, pianist, and two additional outstanding musicians. Filling out the quartet will be bassist Max Murray and saxophonist Larry Boozer.

Don't miss this fabulous evening of song. - READ MORE

MOON OVER THE BREWERY
Friday and Saturday, September 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 8:00 p.m.
and Sunday, September 19 & 26 at 2:00 p.m.

"Moon Over the Brewery" is a lovely play written by Bruce Graham that hits all the marks. It is a dramatic comedy that combines a family story, a love story, good dialogue, great parts, all with good writing.

Set in Pennsylvania, not far from a place called Beertown. "Moon Over the Brewery" is funny, yet poignant. The play sheds light on the secret world of Amanda, a 13 year-old girl who has a high IQ, an imaginary friend, and a single mom. Growing up without a dad hasn't been easy for Amanda. Now, she is forced to deal with the unexpected appearance of mom's new boyfriend. How can this "dull" postman man, wearing shorts and knee socks, possibly measure up to Amanda's idea of perfection? Rated PG.
