Matthews’ silky smooth voice, smoldering delivery and lyrical phrasing has brought her national and international acclaim. She is a jazz vocalist with class and a great sweet style. A Tribute to Buddy Holly Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 8 p.m. To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the late great Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Buddy Holly, Walt Hetfield has assembled a four-piece tribute band and stage show. The group features Hetfield as “Buddy” with guitarist Mike Long, bassist and pianist Barry Eli, and drummer Ken Schleifer reprising the role of his back-up band, The Crickets.
